I spent today’s particularly uneventful afternoon watching teen classic Mean Girls, which starred pre-lesbian, pre-rehab Lindsay Lohan (purposely in the past since we’ll never get that Lindsay back). I miss those days, especially when she was the only celebrity in the family. Enter Living Lohan.
Basically the show’s about momager (this is an accepted word now right?) Dina, little Ali Lohan and their quest to get a record deal. Little Ali wants to make a hip-hop album–because as a white suburban girl that’s the kind of music that speaks to her. Though one may get mislead into thinking that Dina is trying to turn spotlight on her by commodifying her daughter, it’s not really like that. It’s about family. But despite the undeniable loveliness that is the Lohan family, I got bored midway through the first episode–and that’s why I’m going back for more.
Some say that reality shows are a definite sign of cultural decay (though I will argue the case of A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila because it’s just golden and evokes pressing questions about human existence). I say it’s post-modern.
Did anyone else read that Michael Lohan is selling his paternity results to the paps for 20 grand (if that girl Ashley Kauffman is his)? God, I live for this kind of shit.
